Diving Association of Montenegro

National Underwater Competition 2020

The Diving Association of Montenegro has decided to organize a national competition in underwater disciplines, which represents an important segment of the development of sports diving in the country. The competition included several disciplines that test the speed, endurance and technical readiness of competitors in controlled conditions.

The event was held on December 4, 2020, starting at 3 p.m., at the indoor pool in Budva. Unlike open water and disciplines such as underwater orienteering, competing in pool conditions allows for precise measurement of results and equal treatment of all participants.

The competition included three disciplines: 50-meter freestyle, 50-meter freestyle, and 100-meter freestyle. Each of these disciplines requires a high level of physical fitness, proper breathing technique, and optimal energy management during the race.

Participation in the competition was conditional on meeting basic criteria, primarily possessing valid proof of medical fitness. Competitors were required to provide their own diving equipment, which further emphasizes individual responsibility and preparedness for the competition.

Such competitions play a significant role in promoting underwater sports in Montenegro. In addition to their competitive nature, they contribute to the popularization of diving, the development of sports skills, and the strengthening of the diving community.

The organization of events in pool conditions demonstrates the commitment of the Diving Association of Montenegro to the continuous development of various disciplines, creating conditions for the progress of competitors and raising the overall level of the sport.
