Underwater orienteering competition in Bijela: Sportsmanship and precision below the surface

On October 20, 2018, in Bijela (Herceg Novi), an underwater orienteering competition was held, bringing together the best divers from Montenegro. The event was organized in accordance with the regulations and standards of diving, and nine competitors from six different clubs took part.

Underwater orienteering is a discipline that requires exceptional concentration, precision and physical fitness. Competitors navigate in limited visibility conditions, relying on a compass and their own navigation skills.

Best of the best

The winner was Miloš Medjedović from the Južno More club (Bar), achieving an impressive time of 10 minutes and 1 second. His confidence and speed set him apart from the competition.

Second place went to Milan Radović from the Jugole Grakalić club (Herceg Novi), while third place went to Marko Mijajlović from the Podgorica club Kpi Akvanat.

Competition and results

The competition was marked by strong competition and close time differences between competitors. Each participant demonstrated a high level of preparation and dedication to this demanding sport.

The results clearly show the growth in popularity and quality of underwater orienteering in Montenegro, as well as the continuous development of diving clubs.

The significance of such events

Such competitions are of great importance for the promotion of the sport of diving, but also for the development of skills that are crucial for safe diving. In addition to the sporting aspect, such events strengthen the community and encourage the exchange of experiences among divers.
