On December 18, 2022, at the indoor swimming pool of the sports center in Budva, the national championship in underwater disciplines was held in accordance with the rules of the international organization CMAS. The competition brought together eight clubs of the Diving Association of Montenegro and a total of 13 competitors, which confirms the continuous development and growth of interest in underwater sports.
The competition included three disciplines: 50-meter freestyle diving, 50-meter freestyle swimming and 100-meter freestyle swimming. Each of these disciplines required a high level of physical fitness, technical precision and control during the performance.
In the 50-meter free diving discipline, first place was won by Ado Gargović from the Akvanat club (Podgorica) with a time of 23.03 seconds. Second place went to Đulo Adrović from the Plava Planeta club (Kotor), while third place was taken by Željko Vukićević from the Akvanat club.
In the 50-meter speed swimming race, Ado Gargović also won with a time of 23.85 seconds. Second place went to Đule Adrović, while third place went to Nikola Polovina from the Adriatic Blue club (Herceg Novi).
In the 100-meter freestyle swimming event, Ado Gargović took first place again with a time of 50.22 seconds. The second place went to Đulo Adrović, while the third place was won by Ana Marija Kustudić from the club Akvanat (Podgorica).
The competition results confirm the high level of competition and the continuous progress of underwater sports in Montenegro, with outstanding individual performances that testify to the quality work of diving clubs and the dedication of competitors.
